Child Protection Policy
The protection of every child that comes into our care is of the upmost importance to us. We recognise the rights of children, as set out by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989, and stipulate that all GHA staff must work to uphold the rights of children and ensure for their well-being and safeguarding in line with the Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy (LSSCP) and Child’s Right Law, 2007.
All staff members are required to sign the LSSCP Policy, submit an affidavit of good behaviour regarding interactions with children, and undergo a background search in the Lagos state sex offenders register.
In line with our vision for the school, we want to ensure that all children; irrespective of gender, religion, ethnic origin, political background, disability, health status or any other bias; have equal access to education and all provisions made available to them, and are protected from abuse or exploitation. All staff members have duty to ensure the well-being of our pupils and to contribute to their care. No harm should come to children in our care.
